A monumental vessel by Elena Karina. Karina held the positions of Craft coordinator (1974-1978) at the National Endowment for The Arts, and special assistant for the arts to the office of the vice president, the white house (1978-80). This piece was acquired directly from the estate. Karina's work can be seen in private and public collections throughout the US, including the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Oakland Museum, and the permanent collection of the Smithsonian, Washington, DC.

PLEASE NOTE, THIS IS NOT A SET OF 2 PIECES, THIS IS ONE SINGULAR VASE.

This piece also comes with a signed booklet from Karina "The Sense of the Sea," which features many images of Karina's incredible work.

Please note: The vessel has not been broken or repaired, after careful examination, it's clear that Karina assembled this vessel by creating two separate pieces and molding them together, then glazing and finishing.

The vessel stands an incredible 22" Tall and 22" x 22" at the wisest points of the sculpture. At the rim of the piece, the diameter is 12.".
